My research journey

In my journey as a future health educator, I have actively engaged in impactful research addressing critical issues affecting college students' well-being. One notable project focused on understanding and improving the sleep patterns of college students within the framework of a health plan, which I was able to develop on my HLTH 380 W class. Recognizing the significance of sleep in overall health, I led this project by employing a multifaceted approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gain comprehensive insights into the factors influencing sleeping habits.
My journey was further developed by my involvement in a grant proposal funded by the American College Health Foundation Mental Health Award, where I was able to work in a group with my other three classmates, in the HLTH 482 W class. This grant was focused in raising awareness in mental health amongst college students.
These experiences have been instrumental in my professional growth as a future health educator. Through the sleep patterns project, I developed expertise in research design, data collection, and analyzing the students well-being. The grant proposal experience broadened my perspective on mental health initiatives, fostering a holistic approach to health education.

Looking forward, these experiences will help me in my future work in the health care system, where I will be able to expend my knowledge further and also express the knowledge I have already gained during my college experience.
